Service Support and Business Applications


We work with industry partners to deliver business software to the Alliance.

The Service Support and Business Applications (SSBA) Business Area supports the full life-cycle for NCIA and NATO Alliance "business applications" required by support functions.  SSBA provides IT services to business functions such as Finance; Human Resources; Portfolio, Programme, Project and Service Management (P3SM); Asset Management; Acquisition / Procurement and Business Intelligence.

These IT services are provisioned through the implementation and in-service support of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Commercial of the shelf (COTS) software or through the delivery of custom built functionality.  The primary ERP supported by SSBA is based upon Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion, for NCIA these support the Finance, HR, Acquisition and Asset Management functions; the P3SM function is supported through the Service, Portfolio Management (SPM) functionality of ServiceNow.  For the NATO Alliance, Oracle EBS is used to support the Finance function and OneView from RLDatix the HR functions.  The strategic direction for business applications is towards COTS in the public Cloud domain (Software as a Service (SaaS)), or hosting applications on Cloud infrastructure (Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)).
