IT Modernization

NCIA is making a vital contribution to NATO Digital Transformation through a series of multi-year IT projects in order to provide secure and persistent service operations through agile CIS capability delivery and services provision.   The outcome will be resilient and responsive political and military collaboration across NATO and, through federation, the remainder of the Alliance.

The IT Modernization (ITM) projects are at the core of this transformation effort.  They include the new Operational Network (ON), initially to the NATO Command Structure, and the Protected Business Network (PBN) to the wider Enterprise.

Besides the ITM projects delivering modernized and secure infrastructure and networks, NCIA's overarching programme covering ITM also has in its scope other projects that, together with ITM, will enable the coherent and secure end-to-end delivery of services for the benefit of Operational Users i.e. services such as Identity and Access Management.  Increasingly, with the move toward embracing cloud-adoption, the same programme plays a role to ensure the architectures and scope of other cloud initiatives and projects do not conflict with ON and PBN implementation.

NCIA is committed to delivering a harmonized One Digital NATO with a fast, secure and reliable digital information, communication and technology infrastructure, enabling flexibility to cater for rapidly changing operational needs.
