NCIA welcomes DCOS Cyberspace to its campus in The Hague

On 30 July 2025, the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) hosted the visit of Deputy Chief of Staff Cyberspace Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and Commander NATO CIS Group, Major General Rainer Beeck, to its campus in The Hague, Netherlands.

Major General Beeck was welcomed by NCIA General Manager Ludwig Decamps. The two leaders discussed ongoing projects and opportunities for further cooperation in the cyber domain. Further to that, they toured NCIA’s labs for Command and Control (C2) and Joint Intelligence and Surveillance Reconnaissance.

Based in Mons, Belgium, SHAPE is home to the NATO Computer Incident Response Capability (NCIRC) and the Cyberspace Operations Centre. The former protects NATO networks by providing round-the-clock cyber defence support, while the latter delivers situational awareness during Allied operations and missions to military commanders, and coordinates NATO’s operational activity in cyberspace. Working in close cooperation with SHAPE, NCIA’s Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Enterprise Service Operations Centre (ESOC) are also based in Mons, defending NATO networks from malicious attacks 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The visit is a strong symbol of the close partnership between SHAPE and NCIA, as fellow cyber defenders of the Alliance with a shared mission contributing to Allied defence and security. NCIA continues to develop its capabilities and services, strengthening NATO’s military command structure and enhancing NATO’s readiness and resilience.
