NCIA discusses space capability integration

From 27 to 29 April 2026, the NATO Space Centre of Excellence 2026 conference took place in Toulouse, France. The event brought together leaders in defence, space and industry, providing the opportunity to exchange insights and enhance cooperation across the Alliance. This year’s theme, "From Awareness to Action: Embedding Space in NATO Operations," places emphasis on leveraging space for defence, resilience and multinational collaboration.

On 29 April, NATO Communications and Information Agency’s (NCIA) Chief Technology Officer, Antonio Calderon, delivered a keynote speech on the topic of integrating capabilities in the space domain. Calderon emphasized the need to leverage industrial expertise to maintain NATO’s strategic advantage. “The key is not only to integrate commercial capabilities into NATO’s architecture, but also to do it at an accelerated pace,” he explained.
