From 14 to 16 October 2025, training coordinators from across NATO Nations, Partners, Command and Force Structures convened at the NCI Academy, in Oeiras, Portugal, for the final Training Coordinators Workshop of 2025, building off of two virtual sessions earlier in the year.
These workshops serve an important function in the Academy’s mission to deliver NATO technical, operational, and managerial training. Training Coordinators act as the link between the Academy and its customers, identifying, bidding for and securing training opportunities with the Academy on behalf of their respective organizations.
Through interactive sessions, surveys, feedback discussions, the 66 participants contributed insights to ensure the Academy’s training programmes remain aligned with NATO’s evolving operational and technological needs.
Alongside the workshop, on 15 October, Oeiras also hosted the Academy Board. Chaired by NCIA General Manager Ludwig Decamps, the meeting brought together senior stakeholders from across NATO to discuss the NCI Academy’s evolving role and training portfolio in supporting the Alliance’s digital transformation.
During the Board session, representatives from the newly formed Cyber and Digital Transformation Division (CDT) at NATO Headquarters outlined how the new organizational structure will enhance cooperation with the Academy and NCIA, thus facilitating CDT’s mission to accelerate the holistic transformation of NATO’s cyber capabilities and digital operations. Board members were also introduced to the Academy’s Training-the-Trainer model of learning, which focuses on empowering trainees and integrating data into the planning and training processes.
The Academy Board also held a joint session with the Training Coordinator Workshop, to deepen the alignment of the skills offered by the Academy with the broader requirements of the Alliance’s digital transformation.
The NCI Academy is one of NATO’s leading training centres for cyber expertise. In times of unprecedented technological advancement, it is critical to facilitating NATO’s resilience and effectiveness in the cyber domain, through managerial, operational and technical training.
