Under the agreement, signed by NCIA General Manager Ludwig Decamps and NIAG Chair Ron Nulkes, NCIA and NIAG will exchange and hold regular consultations on the NCIA Technology Strategy and its future development in support to capability development across the Alliance.
The partnership also outlines cooperation in two areas of mutual interest: NATO readiness and rapid adoption. This covers topics such as industry-stress testing, supply chain security, agile procurement approaches and greater engagement with small and medium size enterprises, start-ups and not for profit organizations.
As part of the agreement, NIAG will also support NATO Edge 26, NCIA’s flagship industry engagement, whose next edition will take place in Türkiye.
The partnership supports NATO’s broader efforts to strengthen defence industrial cooperation. At the 2025 Summit, Allies agreed on increased defence spending and closer coordination with industry to ensure capability delivery and long-term resilience. The collaboration between NCIA and NIAG will help reinforce these objectives, improving alignment between NATO’s operational requirements and the innovation capacity of its industrial base.
“Secretary General Mark Rutte called on NATO Allies, partners, and industry to unite, innovate, and deliver. With this partnership, NCIA and NIAG answer his call,” said Marianne Roth, NCIA Chief of Acquisition. “Now is the time - and the Summit is the right place - to formalize our non-competitive cooperation on priorities such as readiness and delivery. I look forward to implementing this partnership through joint projects with our industry partners."
