Registrations Open: NCIA General Counsel Roundtable 2025


The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) is pleased to invite General Counsels from the private and public sectors, and leading technology law practitioners to the NCIA General Counsel Roundtable 2025. The event will take place from 20 to 21 May 2025, in the NATO Headquarters, in Brussels, Belgium.


The NCIA General Counsel Roundtable brings together legal experts from industry and government sectors in an in-depth exploration of the legal implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the defence and military fields.

Registrations Open: NCIA General Counsel Roundtable 2025

The theme of this year’s event is AI Governance and Law: Impacts on Critical Defence and Security Areas”. Panel discussions will focus on the policymaking, internal governance, accountability aspects and ethical considerations related to the use and implementation of dual-use AI applications. The event will feature a curated mix of keynote addresses, interactive panels with Q&As, and networking opportunities, on the topics of:

  • Data privacy and security: legal, privacy and security considerations for AI systems.
  • Liability and accountability: where AI systems cause harm or make erroneous decisions in a military or dual-use context.
  • Using AI for cybersecurity within military contexts.
  • Legal frameworks for AI interoperability amongst Allies.
  • Procurement of AI and framework requirements/adaptation.

We invite legal specialists, professionals or authorities in law, policy, or defence related to AI applications, to submit their registration request here.
