NCIA hosts first Military 5G Conference

On 12-13 May 2025, the first edition of the Military 5G Conference will take place at IFEMA MADRID.

The conference builds on the work of the Multinational Collaboration on 5G (MN5G) project, established by Italy, Spain and Türkiye and enabled by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA).

NCIA hosts first Military 5G Conference

The MN5G project seeks to unlock the potential of 5G technologies and their evolutions for military applications in multinational contexts. It establishes a military 5G community sharing information, aligning common requirements, and fostering innovation to benefit its participating Nations and NATO.

With the theme “Awareness in Focus”, the Military 5G Conference 2025 aims to facilitate mutual awareness between NATO Nations and industry on relevant programmes, initiatives and concepts regarding the military use of 5G.

The first edition of this conference will feature a mix of presentations and panels, including networking opportunities with programme leads, technical leads and experts from governmental, industrial and academic organizations from NATO member countries, on the topics of:

  • National, multilateral and NATO initiatives and activities on military use of 5G
  • Industrial implementations of military or dual-use 5G systems
  • Standardization and international collaboration
  • Military use cases for the employment of 5G technology
  • Technical concepts for private and public military use of 5G
  • Enabling aspects, such as spectrum and security architectures
