The Chair handover saw Postgate take on the role from Dr Astorga, as of 27 June 2024. Postgate is the Lead Non-Executive Director of the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence Strategic Command. He holds more than 20 years of experience managing the impact of digital technology and his deep technical expertise, combined with his strategic leadership experience, provides strong foundations for understanding the broader issues that organizations need to tackle in order to unlock value from their digital transformations.
"I know that I am joining NCIA at a crucial time, as we embark upon a period of transformation to adapt and align to evolving strategic demand," stated Postgate, newly inaugurated ASB Chair. "I look forward to collaborating with the General Manager and providing the ASB's collective support in enabling him and his team to implement all the components of Agency Operating Model 2030."
In its governance role, the ASB's responsibilities and principal functions include making policy decisions, providing both strategic and operational direction and guidance, undertaking financial oversight and approval of the NCIA's corporate plans, as well as providing performance monitoring and control and approval of NCIA Organizational Directives.
The ASB is the sole entity reporting to the North Atlantic Council on behalf of NCIA. The ASB consists of one principal representative from each NATO member nation with key stakeholders such as Allied Command Operations and Allied Command Transformation, invited to attend in a non-voting capacity to give advice. The Chair and ASB are directly supported in carrying out their responsibilities by the NCI Organization Secretariat.
