Delivering and maintaining effective communication and information capabilities to the war fighter is an incredibly complex endeavour. NATO must continuously evolve and replace and upgrade its capabilities in order to counter today’s threats, and to support all of its mission requirements (such as Humanitarian Relief, Peace Support Operations as just two examples). NATO must ensure that it stays ahead of the changes and new technologies which are being delivered to the commercial marketplace, if NATO is to adequately protect and support its civilian and military populations.
The mission of the Service Strategy Directorate is to formulate and implement strategic guidance and direction throughout the NCI Agency, in line with ITIL best practice. The mission includes fostering innovation, and in facilitating technology injection into NATO operational capabilities.
The Service Strategy Directorate takes the lead on defining the technical vision for the NCI Agency, and has full responsibility for technical coherence throughout the lifecycle. The Directorate is focused on providing both effective and efficient IT to both users and stakeholders and to the NCI Agency itself. The Directorate provides the leadership in improving IT throughout the community, as well as the direction and guidance to deliver and maintain a coherent enterprise of effective IT.
