Cyber security issues continue to find global media headlines, with coverage of significant cyber attacks, together with reports of how nations and organizations such as NATO prevent, detect and respond to those threats.
The Belgian television company Radio Télévision Belge-Francophone (RTBF) recently visited the NCI Agency's cyber security centre in Mons to investigate how NATO protects its critical communication and information systems. The journalists made interviews with Ian West, the designated Chief of Cyber Security Services and Nuri Fattah, one of the centre's leading cyber experts. This was followed by extensive filming of other staff members in 'at-work' situations.
The film crew asked probing questions on cyber threats and NATO's responses to those threats, which enabled our staff to emphasise the importance that the Alliance places on Cyber Defence and the unique responsibilities of the NCI Agency in fulfilling its role as the leading provider of those critical services. The footage was used in a short news report on the French-speaking Belgian national channel - click here.
