20 February 2013 marked an important milestone in the history of NATO maritime telecommunications projects: SELEX ES Contractor has successfully delivered the Broadcast & Ship-Shore System Test Integration and Verification facility to the NCI Agency.
The Broadcast & Ship-Shore System (BRASS) is a NATO project that allows all NATO maritime communication centres to facilitate automatic control and management of the communication assets. The BRASS STIV (System Test Integration and Verification) facility ascertains interoperability between all BRASS implementations within ACO defined Area of Responsibility and is the reference system for any on-site activity related to the BRASS Software (SW) maintenance and enhancement. The system is capable of connecting NCI Agency Mons with the NCI Agency radio site in Staelduijnen (NL) and managing Tx/Rx equipment.
The BRASS STIV was delivered by the SELEX ES contractor to the NCI Agency Service Supply and the same day from the NCI Agency Service Supply to the NCI Agency Service Delivery.
